One Billion Rising in Amsterdam and the UN’s Secretary General. The Voices UnSilenced Art Auction is Saturday, February 16 at LAB ART. RSVP here.

Happy belated V-Day!

If you weren’t too busy mooning over your sweetie or moaning over not having one, yesterday you may noticed some blips about a bunch of people dancing and “rising” around the world — even United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon endorsed the campaign!

ONE BILLION RISING = “a global strike” calling attention to the fact that 1 of 3 women worldwide will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. Rape? Beatings? Yeah, (whether it’s happening to ladies or gents) as Eve Ensler writes on the site,  we’re definitely “Over It”.

So, if you missed getting your groove on in solidarity or wanna keep up the support, head over to LAB ART tomorrow (Saturday, February 16th, 2013) for the Voices unSilenced Art Auction. Supporting Linda’s Voice in their fight to end domestic abuse, the night will be featuring pieces from LouisXXX, Gregory Siff, Thank You X, Max Neutra, Mar and Annie Preece. If Dave Navarro gets you excited, he’s the “Voice of Honor” for the evening. Plus music and cocktails — hey!

Get ready to like it, view the RSVP at LAB ART.
