NewFilmmakers LA is dedicated to exposing new filmmakers’ works to Los Angeles with monthly screening events. Watch clips from this month’s shorts program here.

New Filmmakers L.A.’s stated goal is bringing “innovative works by emerging filmmakers from around the world” to the Los Angeles community. The non-profit organization does just that with its monthly showcases.

This month’s screening is Friday (Sept 21) and features three shorts programs, each with four films. Tickets are $5 per program and include a pre-reception, Q&A and after party — now, that’s a bargain! May we suggest Rachel Goldberg’s Neighbors (featuring Kelli Garner from Lars and the Real Girl, Twilight‘s Edi Gathegi and Grimm‘s Sasha Roiz) from Program #1 and the super-charming Shanghai Love Market from Program #3.

Another New Filmmakers project we applaud is the On Location: Los Angeles Video Project. The call was put out to local filmmakers, asking them to expose us to their L.A. This year’s showcase takes place October 20, so mark your calendar because it’s gonna be fun. We love L.A!.  (Note: Fling Girl L.A. has a similar concept column in the works, ”Welcome to My ‘Hood” will be coming to you this fall.)
