Located on Beverly and right off La Brea, the New Beverly is L.A.’s longest-running revival theater and specializes “classic, independent, cult and foreign films” double features, all in 35mm (yep, actual film). Visit them at newbevcinema.com. (Hint: if you’re looking to eat beyond theater fare, Lulu’s is just a few doors down. They do Breakfast all day. Yum.)

It’s time to motivate!

Just kidding. It’s Slacker Week, at least at the New Beverly and probably in a lot of bedrooms around town. We know you Floyd wannabes are out there with your honey bear bongs — True Romance Floyd, not Fling Girl Floyd — RIP Tony Scott. All you have to do is get into a moving vehicle or put your Vans on and get to the movie theater. It’s hot out, so be lazy and sit in a dark room eating Swedish Fish.

We’re excited because the New Beverly (one of our fave theaters) is showing classics like Animal House, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Ghost World, Fast Times, and of course, the crowing jewel —The Big Lebowski. Make a White Russian, throw on your tattered robe, and get thee to the movie thea-tuh! Have fun… stay awake.
