Okay, so this would be Fling Girl character Lacy‘s dream night. Fashion, cocktails and pretty people all together.
Fashion’s Night Out, brainchild of Anna Wintour, is a world-wide “initiative” started in 2009 to get people excited about fashion and to do their part to boost the economy. Hey, buying a cute pair of shoes and a nice top actually can help make things a little better, right? Better yet, sales of the FNO tshirt help benefit the NYC AIDS fund.
Besides discounts, deals and mini-fashion shows, you’ll get celeb appearances, designers and photographers, giveaways (lots of nail art and totes, more Lacy favorites), cocktails, DJs and music, videos, food, photobooths and even a fortune-teller.
WEHO might be having the biggest blowout with events up and down Robertson, Melrose and Sunset. They have their own Pop Up Lounge at 8646 and 8654 Melrose. Among the highlights, 3.1 Phillip Lim will be handing out signed copies of Lim’s comic “Kill The Night“ and spend $100 at Tory Burch, get a free e-tablet. The night helps benefit the Vintage Hollywood Foundation. And when the stores close at 10, swing by The Standard afterparty for free cocktails (no RSVP required though if you want to play it safe you can find an “official ticket” here.)
Out by the water, Santa Monica will be lit up on Main Street from Pico to Pier and an afterparty at Brick+Mortar, plus more over on the Promenade — Puma will be providing Ping Pong, Foosball, Air Hockey... c’mon, that’s fun. Up the coast, the Malibu Country Mart is going with a carnival theme, red carpet, live performances, food trucks, tarot card readings, henna tattoos… if only there was a fashion show on stilts.
You have no excuse to stay home!
Love, Fling Girl
