LONG VERSION:

Dating can be tough. Dating in Los Angeles can be a soul crushingly, mind numbingly brutal exercise in clinging to your sanity. There’s the serial texting, the booty calling, the no calling, the Facebook stalking, and the fact that around every DJ booth lurk models and actresses and sons and daughters of models and actresses. It’s a town where having Sex and the City inspired fantasies of being picked up in a limo and fed chocolate covered strawberries by a gazillionaire ’til death do you part can be a dangerous activity especially for a newly single chick or dude whose reality is less Manolos and Mr. Big and more Payless and a broke actor-slash-bartender.

Newly single Maggie finds herself adrift and defenseless in the dating trenches of L.A. when she leaves her long-time boyfriend Floyd. The last time Maggie went on a date George Bush had just gotten re-elected. Sure, now she can throw on a cute skirt and some platform wedges and kiss whoever she wants, but she can also go on a date with a musician who enjoys ashing his cigarettes into the pocket of his torn flannel shirt or accidentally fall for a 38-year-old aspiring writer with a foot fetish. We’ve been there. You’ve been there. Our girl Maggie IS there. FLING GIRL L.A. is her story
