Co-owner and the words side of Fling Girl LA.
Born and raised in Texas, Dina hightailed it to Los Angeles at eighteen. She attended the MFA Production program at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where she wrote and directed the award-winning short Archer House, a dark comedy about a Southern sorority.
She then worked as a development executive in film for two years. Then the recession came knocking — which ended up being kind of OK since as an exec she always felt like she was sitting on the wrong side of the conference table anyway.
Gachman’s writing has been featured in Forbes, Red Bull Media, Huffington Post, The Gloss, Thought Catalog, Hello Giggles, Lost in a Supermarket, Heeb Magazine, The Impersonals, and The San Francisco Bay Guardian. Her comedic blog, Bureaucracy for Breakfast, was picked by Chelsea Handler’s Borderline Amazing Comedy site as a featured blog and has been featured on NPR and AOL News.
Her comic books about Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and Mary Pickford are being published in 2012 by Bluewater Comics.
Dina is represented by Foundry Literary + Media in NYC.
